Hithadhoo Central MP Ahmed Azaan, who belongs to the ruling PNC, has condemned the use of force and arrest of two youths by the police last night to stop the youth protest demanding justice for 21-year-old Hawwa Yumnu Rasheed, who fell from a high-rise building in male’ city.
The police arrested abdullah Mahjoom Majid, 28, and Aishath Shiman Ahmed, 19, who were leading the protests.
In a post on X Azaan said, “President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu came to power with a promise to end peaceful protests by using force that did not match the situation”
